Ordinary girl

I am not an adventurer.

I travel as much as my purse affords.

I am not a runner.

I walk as far as my legs can go.

I am not a creator.

I do anything as much as my two hands have power to.

I am not a thinker.

I see the world as big as my eyes can see.

I am not a writer.

I open and tell what is on my mind as much as I can be.

So if you expect to see me any special,

I am sorry.

I just am this ordinary.

How I celebrated my graduation.

After whining on my earlier blog about my graduation, instead of Coke, I think my graduation day was much better than that.

Although I was 3-hour late because of some reasons, I still could make it to a place called Pinkey Park in Rowayton, a town next door to Darien.

Well, if I have not gotten lost on the way back home last month, I would never know that there is a charming park hidden in this small town.

And I would never have chance to know that
Mediterranean sight is just 5-minute away from my place.

My friends and I had a picnic there. We grabbed something to eat from a store nearby and headed to the park for a special event.

Don't underestimate them. They were much better than how they looked like.

Brownie, peanut, chicken, potato salad, cherries and soda,

How about that, huh, my MD graduation celebration!!

The place was great.

Picnic members were cool.

Everything was perfect.

Except me....

the girl in servant outfit.....

During summer, there's a play of Shakespeare called "Shakespeare on the sound." This year they perform Shakespeare's Othello.

Only during June 15th-26th, Pinkey Park turns into a place for picnic and play. 6 in the evening we arrived there, almost every spots in the park were reserved.

7 pm, the place was crowded.

From the spot we're sitting, the players were a-little-bit bigger than my pinky finger.

As being very good at English language................., I had to try to concentrate on the play.

I tried hard..... to catch what the play told the story....

tried harder..... to understand.....

and tried hardest to see thru those plants and that head!

Anyone moves those for me, please!

As much as I can tell, Shakespeare's Othello in Rowayton was a great play.

As much as I could be pretending, my friends thought that I totally understood the play...

But...., well...., to be honest,

as much as I understood,

there still is 90% of the play that I will have to find out what it is!

Simplest celebration

In the past 5 years, on the day like this coming Saturday, I had to wake up 4 in the morning.

I took a shower very quickly and headed out to a beauty salon near my house to make my hair and wear makeup which I rarely, rarely did

It was my special day -- Graduation Day.

I remember that I was so excited. I smiled all day, surounded by friends who I spent my 3 and a half years with and graduated at the same time while my hands were full of bouquets and presents.

Family,

Friends,

Laughs,

most of all,

Pride

And celebration

(Sorry, there's no picture of my graduation celebration.)

So what else it was if it was not called my day?

After spending almost 4 years, this weekend is my Master degree graduation day.

Since there is no family, no friends, no presents, no bouquets, no laughs, no even cards,

moreoever, I have to work this weekend........;

so I kinda feel surprised...

Am I really done with my MD??

I am sure if I were home at this moment, I might be busy with what hair style I would make or where my celebration would be.

But since I am afar from home and no one to celebrate this occasion with,

to make it as simple and easy as I can, I am thinking about, tomorrow, I may go to grocery store near by to get a Coke can,

then grab the can, raise my hand up, and say

"Congratulations, Khwan"

And to ensure myself again

"Finally, you did it."

Summer....

As the cold wind blows itself to somewhere else, the sun shines and the weather is getting warmer and warmer, I often croon one of my favorite song.

Summer has come and past....

The innocent can never last....

As I feel burned on my shoulders, I think it is a sign to let me know that the summer already arrives here.

When I was young, summer, for me, meant school holiday and beaches.

My cousins and I were waiting for this school break and looking forward to visit my uncle and aunt where their house was near the beach.

We all enjoyed our summer time since our skin turned tan, to cocoa tone, and until it peeled off.

Nothing to say much. We waited for no-school time, family activities, beaches, and road trips with our beloved uncle and aunt.

So we would scream out loud.

"We love summer!"

Now I am here in the USA.

I think I can tell how different it feels between the summer in my home country and the summer here.

Actually, since I have chance to see the different of season in the USA, I can say that summer is always there in Thailand for the whole year. But summer in the USA is really summer -- hot weather, beaches, sunny days, outdoor activities, and sun-bathing people.

Although I just have gone thru freezing wind and very-cold season which called winter, so I can tell how great warm weather is, and I am told that I should enjoy this period of the year and the summer sun,

but since my schedule is changed which means... less rest and free time, outdoor (almost every) days.... , and, well.........., school break, throughout summer until the labour day...

I am once again gonna sing the song....

Wake me up when September ends
..........., PLEASE!!
